Employee Training

The health and safety of each individual is the highest priority of Sumas Remediation. We require employees to participate in all safety and related training that is necessary to protect the company, public and the environment. All Sumas employees are trained to perform their jobs competently, efficiently and safely. This commitment to staff training has earned us an impeccable safety record.

Our training programs ensure:

  • Every new employee is instructed in the company’s safety policies and procedures
  • Job specific procedures are compiled and every applicable worker can understand and follow these procedures
  • Managers and supervisors with safety responsibilities are provided with training that meets industry standards
  • All employees have Level 1 First Aid (minimum requirement), WHMIS and TDG
  • Supervisors have completed 24-Hour Hazardous Waste Operations and Emergency Response (HAZWOPER) training course.

As part of our commitment to Health and Safety, our training program is audited internally every year, and by an independent third-party auditor every three years.
